Most of us remember the days before multi-media projectors. Sitting in a classroom was difficult enough as a youngster, but even more difficult when required to fight sleep while viewing the lecture notes of the day on an overhead projector. That technology is still in use today, and while it offers less in the way of interaction by viewers, it is still a useful tool for educators, and corporate presenters. Overhead projectors use a lamp or bulb that is ANSI coded. ANSI is the standard for naming the lamps for these types of projectors that marks a three letter code like ENX. The simple but effective method of naming these lamps enables end users to easily identify the lamp needed for their projector. Other uses for ANSI coded lamps include reel to reel projectors, microscopes, and other medical instruments. IF any of these products cross your path, just check the lamp for the three letter ANSI code, and that will tell you exactly what is needed for a fresh lamp.
